the stars
coruscate, scintillate
in the night sky
the sand
drifts, dunes
on the deserts
the waters
sinew, waves
in the ocean
the fullness of it all
to experience it
I cannot
The night greets me
with not a star in sight.
The harshness of the desert
sandstorms blight my path.
The lakes, the seas have all
bowed to the draught.
Cracked, everything has come to naught.
emptiness
that will not fade
that time cannot fill
my hourglass is hollow
